The Chicago Residential Investment Fund (RIF) is an Illinois not-for-profit created by the City of Chicago to invest in, develop, and manage high-quality, permanently mixed-income housing. To do this, the RIF has access to a $135 million revolving fund that can replace private equity.

The RIF is in the process of establishing committees to assist in its operations.

​

Investment Committee

The Investment Committee will consist of multifamily development finance professionals and will establish underwriting criteria and review all RIF investments, making recommendations to the full Board.

​

Sustainability Advisory Committee

The Sustainability Advisory Committee will include experts in green and sustainable building design and will recommend sustainability standards consistent with the RIF's mission to provide high-quality, environmentally friendly housing as well as the fiscal health of the RIF's investments.

​

Resident Advisory Committee

Once the first development has been leased up, the Board will establish a Resident Advisory Committee consisting of tenants of RIF developments to provide feedback and recommendations to the Board in the interest of RIF tenants.
